Joe Bonsall joined the Oak Ridge Boys in 1973 and was with them for 51 years.

The group’s hits included “Elvira” and “Bobbie Sue,” which topped both country and pop charts.

Bonsall retired from touring in January due to ALS, which affected his mobility.

He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Planned to record a new album and was working on his memoir, “I See Myself,” to be released in November.

Joe Bonsall's passing is a great loss for the Oak Ridge Boys, with his contributions fondly remembered.
